posted on 03.12.09 I LOVE MY MOM

If you follow me on twitter or facebook you will already know that my mother had some complications during her heart cath. The doctors had to put many stints in her valves due to major blockages. Her valves are so tiny, like mine, that they do not feel she is a candidate for valve replacement surgery. In a week she will go back to have more stints put in the back of her heart. If these stints do not work she may need a heart transplant. My mom has been diagnosed with heart disease and if she will quit smoking and take her medication every day she has a chance to be around for many years.

If you twitter please tweet some “get well” wishes and/or words of encouragement to @lovetspvintage.

posted on 27.10.09 LOADS TO SAY

Saturday the 17th was the Craftin Outlaws show. It was fun & exhausting. I never went to bed the night before and the day was chocked full of events, I was mainly too exhausted to do them but somehow managed. First event of the day, of course, the Craftin Outlaws show…

After the show we started our Anniversary celebration at akai hana. Then we went and watched Where the Wild Things Are. After a much needed rest we started Sunday the 18th, another fun filled day of celebration. First stop, Waffle House, yum. Next stop, King’s Island!! It was cold so we were in layers, coats, gloves & hats. Cold weather = no lines!! woo!

On our way home from King’s Island I noticed our temperature gauge in the car was going over the mid point. We spent Monday the 19th at Pep Boys, barf. We will later find out that was a dumb choice. While roaming Florence, KY some girl rolled her window down to yell out to my hubby “sexy freakin boy.” lame. We did some shopping at the Florence Antique Mall, found some books, vintage eyeglass frames & a pressie for bff Ashley for her birfday. Bff Kaira & her bf rescued the day and ended up at Starbucks. After we picked up our car, Gray & I decided to go watch Whip It. After the movie we found out one of our sons, Darwin was having his first toothache. :(

Tuesday the 20th, Darwin’s jaw swelled up and had to be taken to the dentists. He has an abscessed tooth, poor thing. His surgery is December 9th, to remove it.

Skip to Friday the 23rd. Gray had a math/biology conference in Knoxville, TN and he presented the research he did last year to a group of math & biology nerds. While he was away my mum came for a visit. Saturday the 24th we took the kids shopping and playing at the mall. Mum left and Gray came home. Gray & I met up with Ethan & Cassie (our in-laws) at O’Charley’s for some din din. That night we noticed our temperature gauge was traveling again. Checked under the hood and there was antifreeze everywhere.

Sunday the 25 was filled with barfness & fun. We took the kids on a scavenger hunt and then took the car back to Pep Boys. They did not put enough oil in my car after giving it an oil change and they did not find the gigantic leak in my radiator after doing a coolant check for leaks. What?!? We decided to put the new radiator in ourselves. So my dad, mum & gizmo came for a visit to help Grayson put it in. Yesterday, the 26th, we put a new thermostat in our car, with phone guidance from my dad. Our check engine light is on so more car fixing adventures are planned this week.

Sorry for the huge update. Last few things… You can now purchase The Lovely Teaspoon merchandise at Sick For Cute. I will be doing the Craft Mafia show in Covington, Ky on November 28 & 29, more info to come. Befriend me on facebook. And RSVP to the Bazaar Bizarre show on facebook, I’m doing the West Side one.

posted on 16.10.09 A CRAFTIN OUTLAW

I can’t believe it’s already time for another big show! This Saturday I will be traveling to Columbus, Ohio to do Craftin Outlaws. I did the Hyde Park Art Show two weeks ago, which depleted a lot of my inventory so I’ve been stressed to the max trying to get enough inventory made up for this one. If you are in town, come stop by and meet me and my hubby, I love meeting teaspoon fans

In other news, the hubs and me have been together for eight years this month and we had out three year wedding anniversary this past Thursday. Since I’ve been so busy preparing for this show we didn’t have time to celebrate but we did exchange cards and he surprised me with flowers and wine. I bought a tomtom for a shared gift. We will be celebrating our anniversary after the show with dinner and a movie,  Where the Wild Things Are. Then we are off to Kings Island Sunday for roller coasters and Halloween fun!

XOXO, ali

posted on 07.10.09 CAN I KEEP UP?

The shows were a success, especially Hyde Park. I had 121 sales at Hyde Park and my “stock box” was half full/half empty. Yeah, I need to make loads of newbies for my Etsy & the Craftin Outlaws show, which is in less than two weeks, yikes! Here’s a pic of my booth before the show started:

Now if only I took pics of the booth crowded and the aftermath, crazy! More pics.

Monday was suppose to be my finish custom orders, start wholesale order, restock shop, etc day but I decided to take the day off and relax. I deserve a day off, right? Tuesday I found out my Groped by a Skeleton Necklace was in an Etsy Finds Email. Let’s just say I spent the whole day trying to keep up, I sold 19 of them and sold other things as well. This week will be a busy, busy shipping week as well as a make stock, custom orders, wholesale… Need I say more

Special shout out to Team Teaspoon! Thank you for being so awesome and helping me out at the shows, I love you!!
